Fifteen Things You Never Knew About the Newly Crowned Ooni Of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II


Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi's emerged Ile Ife's 51st king after a keen competition for the throne. His profile wowed Ife natives, Nigeria and the world by storm when he was selected as the new Ooni to succeed Oba Okunade Sijuwade. Asides being young, he is a very principled king who though modern embraces the preservation of tradition and culture. Below are things you never knew about the new Ooni.

  • His birth day and time  was predicted before he was born at 1P.M on the 17th of October, 1974
  • He was left unattended by his mum for 11 days from birth
  • The name, Enitan was given to him by his father and late mother
  • The name, Adeyeye was given to him by his grandfather
  • The ruling families of Ogunwusi and Sojiopa jointly named him Babatunde

T - Traditional development through the preservation of the tradition as a monument for Nigerians and the world at large

Look out for a face lift in Ife as the New Ife City is underway. The new city will have old street names and the old Ife city will be preserved as a monument
