Into the world of Nike Imoru; ZNation Cast Director.
Nike Imoru is a British casting director, acting
coach, actress and director with an array of credits in the entertainment
industry covering twenty five years and twenty one countries. For the
last decade Nike has worked in the Northwest casting commercials,
industrial videos, documentaries, theatre and, in the last six years, twenty
full-length feature films. She has worked alongside a plethora of actors
and directors including Wayne Wang, John Carpenter,
Tony Krantz, Samuel Jackson, Ray Liotta, Wei Tang, Antonio Banderas, Amber
Heard, Jimmy Simpson, Vera Farmiga, Tom Skerrit. She is passionate
about the process of casting and demonstrates an intelligent and
intuitive ability to “understand the actor, any actor, from any culture”.
Her first love is the actor.
Alongside her work as a casting director, Nike is also a
Master acting coach. She partners with actors to develop and create unique
content specific to their emotional and psychological needs. She is
unswerving and committed to developing a rich source of diverse
and skilled talent for the Northwest entertainment industries.
Nike is a classically-trained, award-winning
actress,with a stack of national and international
acting credits ranging from BBC Radio 4 to Public Radio; from The Royal
National Theatre Studios in London, to The Getty Museum in LA; from her
seminal one-woman performance of Medea in Delphi, Greece; to her
critically-acclaimed portrayal of Shakespeare’s most villainous male
antagonist, Aaron the Moor, inTitus Andronicus (2012)for which she was awardedOutstanding Classical Actress,
(Footlight Award, Seattle Times)Best Featured Actress(Critics ChoiceAward,Broadway World) andExcellence in Performance(Gypsy Rose Lee Award). In academe she has taught
hundreds of student-actors globally. She has collaborated and shared the stage
with some of the most illustrious figures in theatre and performance history,
including Nobel Laureate Wole Soyinka. She gained her PhD from the University
of Warwick, UK and was overjoyed to have her doctoral thesis added to the
British Museum Library in 2012. Nike is a member of Actors Equity Association,
SAG-AFTRA and the Casting Society of America.
